The "Complicated History" Entry

So the X-Men cinematic universe is a trip, alright. It takes itself very seriously for a series of timelines that retcon themselves both IC and OOC. I'm playing Peter from the revised timeline, which started with the reboot of Days of Future Past and so I'm forsaking any other appearances and sticking with that timeline. Peter is introduced in the film as a young mutant in the 70s who would make connections later in life with Logan (aka "Wolverine") and is sought out in the past after Logan was telepathically sent there to prevent an abysmal future in which mutants are getting hunted to extinction by robots called Sentinels.

Days of Future Past:
Logan, Hank McCoy and Charles Xavier personally seek Peter out at the house of his mother, Ms. Maximoff. From the moment they wander into his lair of a basement it becomes apparent that he's a bit of a klepto and in any and everything for personal gain. He's fast, so much so that Hank questions if he's actually a teleporter since in the time it took them to get into the basement, he'd already looked up their rental agreement and gone through it to see that they were from out of town. Peter's resistant to helping them out on their task, but is lured into accepting after being told the details the mission: to break into the pentagon to free Erik Lehnsherr from confinement.

Being really sold on breaking into the most secure building in the US of A, he breaks Erik from his glass-based prison with the mighty power of vibration. He non-lethally takes down a room full of angry security officers before Erik can resort to metal justice, and retires once more to his mother's basement shortly after with +1 rental car and -1 clue that Lehnsherr was actually his father. He figures that out in the time between Days of Future Past and Age of Apocalypse, which takes place roughly a decade later from his first appearance. In that same period of time, Erik actually does attempt to kill a president (rather than actually being the one attempting to save JFK,) and mutants begin their slow slip into the mainstream of a newly revised timeline where their place in the world is still questionable, but considering Magneto relented and it was the shape-shifter Mystique who aided in protecting the president, the outcome is slightly more in their favor moving forward. Peter watches the news with his family of this event.
Age of Apocalypse:
Still living in his mother's basement, Peter yet again finds himself watching news of Magneto's latest foray into the public eye and status as a wanted criminal on the commemoration special of 10 years since Erik nearly assassinated the president. Choosing to go after his father despite warnings from his mother to stay clear, Peter heads to Xavier's Academy in search of Charles thinking he may be able to help him.

Arriving on the scene of the mansion mid-explosion, Peter does what he does best and takes up the challenge of vacating all those he could find within the premises before the violent eruption overtakes them. He gets everyone with the exception of Havoc who is still missing, who happened to be closest to the blast when it occurred. He doesn't get to mingle very long as William Stryker arrives on the scene and incapacitates everyone with a sonic blast. Peter, along with Raven, Moira, and Hank are taken by Stryker to his facility, held hostage since the world's nuclear warheads were all fired into the skies due to a "powerful psychic event". So he's also looking for Charles, who at that moment is held captive by Apocalypse who wants his powers. (Charles is a popular guy.)

Long story short, Nightcrawler, Jean and Scott free the others after Apocalypse has Charles broadcast a message to the world, in which he hid a message to Jean about his location. The team suits up to save Charles (and the world,) and Peter goes along with them as Erik's become involved as one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, stricken with grief at the recent loss of his wife and child. Peter still wishes to seek out his father, and accompanies Mystique in approaching him in Cairo while the team splits up to retrieve Charles. Mystique pleas with Erik to fight for their side, stating he has 'more family than he know[s]' as well as her and Charles. Peter, upon being asked why he's there, starts to say 'I'm your-' before faltering and correcting himself with 'I'm here for my family too'. Peter and Mystique leave, her final words to Erik in the scene being: "I'm going to fight for what I have left. Are you?"

Peter then attempts to fight Apocalypse one on one, using his speed to land several blows before the other mutant catches up and causes the earth to morph around Peter's leg to immobilize him. He then snaps both Peter's right arm and leg, further incapacitating him. Psylocke, one of the Four Horsemen, is instructed to 'end him' before it's revealed by her slicing open Apocalypse's throat that she's really Mystique in disguise. An awkward billboard scandal scene later, the X-Men (barring Peter who again, is rather incapacitated) unite in an assault against Apocalypse. Charles, who is mentally connected to him now via the interrupted body-swapping ceremony, uses this connection to his advantage to enter Apocalypse's mind. He nearly loses that mental fight before pulling Jean Grey into it, requesting she 'let go' of her fears and embrace her powers. She does so (eeyy Phoenix) and Apocalypse basically gets rinsed.

Happy ending? No, that comes pretty soon after as they rebuild the mansion (architect kudos to Erik and Jean) and while Erik departs on his own and Peter's not exactly going to be attending any father-son events any time soon, he stays behind at the X-Mansion rather than following after him. He, with several others, begin to train to become X-Men under Mystique's guidance.
That Tricky Scarlet Witch Thing:
Alright, so in the comics Peter has a twin sister named Wanda who is the Scarlet Witch. (She and Quicksilver both appear in the Marvel cinematic universe, completely separate from the X-Men universe because everyone wants to do their own thing.) However in the X-Men universe, we've only seen Peter and his younger sister on screen together. But in the Rogue cut of the film, a second sister is mentioned. Peter's younger sister is instructed to go upstairs and 'bug her sister', to which she replies 'but she bugs me!' so it's implied that perhaps Wanda, with her ability set, may make an appearance in the future X-Men universe.

But because everything is complicated, we have to wait and see.
