Name: Peter Maximoff. Door: Left. Canon: X-Men Cinematic Universe Canon Point: Post "Apocalypse". Age: 27 Appearance: link. History: Link to written entry of it & Timeline | Wiki Page Personality: Peter Maximoff is quite frankly a little shit. A bit of a kleptomaniac and quite a character to those who cross paths with him, he's got a hefty sense of cocky overconfidence that comes with being super-fast and able to evade pretty much anything. Including the consequences of his eagerly thefting ways. It's hard not to be a rebel against authority because of that, especially when even his own (human) mother can't do much to rein him in... other than handing off checks to the officers who come to their front door to cover the cost of whatever the hell it was he decided to take. (And believe you me, he will take pretty much anything that's not bolted down. And even in some exceptional cases, he'll manage to take those too.) Growing up during turbulent times for the mutant community, Peter defied the norm when it came to staying on the down low about his mutant abilities. Following a variety of sudden spotlights on mutants who hadn't otherwise come forth as 'unique individuals' into mainstream attention, mutants were often isolated or considered dangerous to the world at large. But did Peter ever really care about that? No, because - nobody could really prove he did anything on account of his super speed. At least until it became extremely, extremely obvious on account of his impish sense of humor. Getting mutants disqualified from athletic competitions due to unfair advantages? Definitely something he's likely to be blamed for. And maybe he does get his flair for the dramatic from his father - who happens to be the most prominent (and wanted) mutant of the age, one Erik Lehnsherr aka Magneto. Who has absolutely no idea Peter exists in the timeline Peter's from, or so Peter believes for all the attempts he's made to get in touch with him which includes tracking him down all across the globe. Peter's mother tried to shield him from meeting Lehnsherr by stating that 'nothing ends well with him' but Peter's a stubborn type and not so easily dissuaded from a task he has his mind set on. Peter's many little quirks aside, he's quite loyal and determined. He has a sturdy (and yet sometimes questionable,) moral compass and is coming into his own after spending most of his time alone in his mother's basement. While he may not be looking to locate his father so avidly anymore, he is still looking to find the root of who he is as a person and make something of himself. Through-out Apocalypse, Peter comes to make new friendships with the mutants he meets and begins to open up to them as peers. He uses his abilities and risks his own life for the greater good, working as part of the X-Men team to protect the world from other threats. Powers and Abilities: Peter Maximoff is fast. Having inherited the mutant gene from his father's half of his genetics, Peter's mutation allows him to move at superhuman speeds befitting of a guy named Quicksilver. He's capable of moving and perceiving the world faster than a normal human, allowing him to see what's around him as if it were in slow motion. This comes in handy for redirecting the trajectory of bullets, giving instantaneous wedgies and running along walls defying gravity. Peter's body is well suited to keep up with the high speeds he can reach on account of his mutation, with obviously enhanced reactions and the durability and stamina to endure moving at such accelerated speeds. His joints are reinforced and his metabolism ridiculously high on account of burning so much energy with his fast-paced lifestyle. His metabolism also allows him to heal and recover faster, but also makes him something of a snack hound. (Perhaps a weakness.) Strengths: Peter's able to move and react at ridiculously fast speeds and uses this ability to help others whenever possible (see: emptying an entire mansion full of children before an explosion fully engulfs it,) but also for personal gain. Because he's a dumb klepto, he knows a bit about lock picking and more traditional b&e skills. He's a quick study, able to read and learn a lot in a short period of time - if he's inclined. Weaknesses: Peter sometimes talks or act faster than he thinks, potentially putting him in sticky situations. He is from 1983 so he's not used to advanced technology but will catch on quickly, provided someone fills him in on the finer details of the new digital age. He's smart but also a bit lazy, if unmotivated in life and still struggling to find out what he's going to do with himself. Inventory: Cassette deck, chewing gum and a set of crutches. Samples: Previous game network & log samples. (More found on the two tags @ MoM) |
